EyeCash ("we," "us," "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have over your data. By using EyeCash, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing). If you enable multi-factor authentication, we may collect phone numbers or other verification details.

1.2 Financial Data

Through secure third-party providers (such as Plaid), we collect and store transactional data, account balances, and related metadata from financial accounts you choose to connect. This includes transaction amounts, merchant names, dates, categories, and account identifiers. We use read-only access and cannot move money or initiate transactions.

1.3 AI and Usage Data

To provide AI-powered insights and personalized recommendations, we analyze your financial data using automated systems and artificial intelligence technologies. This analysis includes spending patterns, budget adherence, debt payoff strategies, and savings opportunities. AI processing is enabled by default for all users as part of our core service offering.

We also collect usage data such as feature interactions, page views, session duration, device type, browser information, and IP addresses to improve our service, troubleshoot issues, and detect abuse.

1.4 Communication Data

If you contact us via email or support channels, we retain that correspondence to provide customer service and improve our offerings.

2How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain EyeCash services, including displaying balances, categorizing transactions, and managing budgets
  • Generate AI-powered insights, recommendations, and personalized financial guidance
  • Recommend affiliate products or services that may help you achieve your financial goals (see Section 4)
  • Process subscription payments via Stripe
  • Send service updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve functionality, reliability, and user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

3AI and Automated Decision-Making

EyeCash uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models to analyze your financial data and provide personalized insights. These insights may include:

  • Spending trends and category analysis
  • Budget recommendations and alerts
  • Debt payoff strategies (avalanche, snowball, etc.)
  • Savings opportunities and financial health scores
  • Recommended financial products or services that may benefit you

AI processing is automatic and cannot be disabled. All users consent to AI analysis of their financial data when they create an account and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish for your data to be processed by AI, you must not use EyeCash.

Our AI systems do not make consequential decisions affecting your legal rights, financial status, or creditworthiness. AI-generated insights are advisory only and should not be considered professional financial advice.

4Affiliate Relationships and Compensation

EyeCash may display recommendations for third-party financial products, services, or institutions (such as high-yield savings accounts, credit cards, or investment platforms). We may receive compensation or affiliate commissions if you choose to engage with these recommendations.

Our affiliate relationships do not influence the accuracy of your data or the core functionality of EyeCash. Recommendations are generated based on your financial profile and goals, but the selection of recommended partners may be influenced by affiliate agreements.

You are never required to use any recommended products or services. All affiliate recommendations are clearly marked.

5Data Sharing and Third Parties

5.1 Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers to operate EyeCash, including:

  • Plaid: Financial data aggregation and bank connections
  • Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions
  • Firebase/Google Cloud: Data storage, authentication, and cloud infrastructure
  • AI and Analytics Services: Processing financial data for insights and recommendations

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only as necessary to perform services on our behalf.

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, governmental request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety (or that of our users or the public).

5.3 Business Transfers

If EyeCash is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent website notice before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5.4 No Selling of Data

We never sell your personal or financial data to third parties for their independent marketing purposes. Affiliate recommendations are part of our service and do not constitute "selling" under most privacy laws.

6Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256 or equivalent)
  • Access Controls: Strict role-based access controls limit data access to authorized personnel only
  • Authentication: Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is available to secure your account

  • Regular Audits: Periodic security reviews and vulnerability assessments

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and should report suspected unauthorized access immediately.

7Data Retention

We retain your personal and financial data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for up to 7 years to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements.

Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement.

8Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Access and Correction

You can access and update your account information at any time through your EyeCash settings.

8.2 Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@eyecash.xyz. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data from active systems within a reasonable timeframe, subject to retention requirements.

8.3 Data Portability

You can export your transaction data in CSV format from your EyeCash account settings.

8.4 Marketing Communications

You may opt out of promotional emails by following unsubscribe instructions in those messages. You cannot opt out of service-related communications (e.g., security alerts, account notifications).

8.5 CCPA and State Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident (or reside in another state with similar privacy laws such as the Virginia CDPA, Colorado CPA, or Connecticut CTDPA), you may have additional rights including:

  • Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it
  • Right to request deletion of personal information (subject to legal exceptions such as fraud prevention, legal compliance, and completing transactions)
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — EyeCash does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a CCPA right
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information held about you
  • Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (such as financial account details) — we only use sensitive data to provide our core budgeting services

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@eyecash.xyz with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond with a substantive answer within 45 calendar days. If we need additional time, we will notify you of the extension (up to an additional 45 days) and explain the reason.

To protect your privacy, we will verify your identity before fulfilling any request. Verification may include confirming the email address associated with your account, answering security questions, or providing other information that matches our records. If we cannot verify your identity, we may deny the request and explain why.

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide written authorization from you and may still require you to verify your identity directly with us.

EyeCash does not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not exchange personal data for monetary or other valuable consideration. Aggregate, de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you is not considered personal information under the CCPA.

8.6 Financial Incentives

EyeCash is a subscription-based service (EyeCash Pro). Pro includes features such as automatic bank sync, unlimited AI insights, and debt payoff tools. Subscription pricing reflects the cost of providing these features (e.g., bank connection fees via Plaid, increased AI processing). We do not offer financial incentives (such as discounts or complimentary services) in exchange for the retention or sale of personal information.

9Children's Privacy

EyeCash is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We do not sell the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age, as required by the CCPA. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 (as defined by COPPA) or a minor under 18 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at support@eyecash.xyz.

10International Users

EyeCash is based in the United States. If you access EyeCash from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries. By using EyeCash, you consent to such transfers.

11Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.

Your continued use of EyeCash after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
